This 1/4 scale (3" scale) model of a Colorado & Southern Bobber Caboose required a lot of fabricated hardware. I designed the pedestals to be a combination of waterjet, weld and 3D printed hardware to simulate traditional castings. Since only one caboose was being made, it was not economical to produce patterns and have castings made in the traditional manner. the model also includes a host of other hardware shown here, similar to the boxcar.
Measurments for the caboose were taken by me, drawings made and the wood body built by my father in his shop. Undercarriage hardware was built in my shop and mated to the finished body here.
