Chloe and Olomana Drawings

These are scans of original drawings by D.L. Joslyn of Ward Kimball's "Chloe" locomotive as well as Gerald Best's "Olomana", executed in 1949.   The drawings show the changes to the Hawaiian plantation locomotives as affected by Ward and Gerald.   Specifically, they focus on the wood components such as pilots, cabs, etc.   the original color scans are included as well as enhanced greyscale images.

Today the Chloe is located in the Ward Kimball collection of the Southern California Railroad Museum, formerly the Orange Empire Railroad Museum.   The Olomana is owned by the Smithsonian museum of American History and is presently on loan to the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum.
